Refelting Your Pool
Table Prepping the The Pockets |
Now to
the pockets...you can see in the picture that the edge of the slate is dark.
This is from spray-on glue that was used before. If we just put more on top of
it, we'll end up with a small ridge of build-up in front of the pocket. In
order to prevent this buildup, take a putty knife, and just scrape down the
edge of the pocket a bit. |
 |
You only need to do a small area because the cushions
cover the rest anyway. |
 |
Now, lay out your new felt on the table, and get it
pretty much where it is going to be. At this point, perfection isn't
necessary. |

 |
| Then, fold
it back from the edges. |

 |
here, Allen is spraying contact cement on the inner
edge of the pockets...a little overspray on the slate is OK, but try to keep it
to a minimum. The cardboard is just to keep it from dripping on the
floor. |
 |
Underneath, and on the bottom of the slate, Allen
uses a brush to apply the contact cement in order to keep from spraying the
other stuff up into the air, and possibly on the new felt, or an expensive pool
table light. |
